No matter where we live in western WI, we want to have the local control that makes our community a place where we all can thrive.
Corporate agribusiness is hurting rural communities in Western Wisconsin and all across the United States. CAFOs (Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations) put small farms out of business, pollute our water, tear up our roads, and drive our property values down.
It’s time for Western Wisconsin to fight back against corporate agribusiness expansion; to build a community where we can rely on each other to take care of the home we share.
CAFO Operations Ordinance Forum
Saturday, October 5, 2024
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Elmwood Village Office
We know that Pierce County wants to see corporate agribusiness accountable. From last year, when over 1000 residents signed the petition against the expansion of Ridge Breeze, to the over 400 residents who came to the DNR public hearing to make sure their voices were heard. We have been able to do so much together, and we’re not stopping there.
Come to the CAFO Operations Ordinance Forum on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the Elmwood Village Office Auditorium. Learn more about what exactly an operations ordinance is, and what it could do for our neighborhoods in Pierce County. Join us as Lisa Doerr, a community organizer from Polk County, talks to us about how she and others protected their homes by passing local ordinances.
